MSI installer packages offer a very simple method for installing the Connector/ODBC drivers.
The data collected in the odbc view of from the resources tab is stored in the ODBC tables.
• ODBCAttribute Lists attributes of ODBC drivers and translators.
• ODBCDataSource Lists data sources belonging to the installation.
• ODBCDriver Lists ODBC drivers belonging to the installation.
• ODBCSourceAttribute Lists the attributes of data sources.
• ODBCTranslator Lists ODBC translators of the installation.
With Install Time™ you simple need to add either the data source data or the drive information in a single view and we will populate the right tables for you.
The top of the ODBC page has a feature dropdown list. Select the feature where you would like to add or edit either
a odbc data source or driver.
Add Data Source
If the data source is already on the build machine, select "Select ODBC registered datasource". We will import the information
into your install. If your data source driver is 64 bit, be sure to select the "show 64-bit drivers" in order to filter your list to 64 bit driver details.
To add a custom data source, simple select the "Add custom ODBC data source" option, give the data source a description, driver description and you are done.
data source can be made available on a per machine or per user basis. Select the option that best fits your requirements.
Per-Machine is typical used in most environments.
Select Add - Driver from the ODBC page to add a odbc driver and driver information to the installation.
